i dont even whore that much, i have just had some free time from school (should be studying for mid terms right now) so i've been posting here more.

 

Oh don't worry I don't take it personal because it is just the internet, but I also want to maintain the Basement as a place that grows in traffic. Part of that is keeping it free of excessive flaming (we all flame off here and there and it is overlooked sometimes and sometimes not), as well as excessive thread derailment because it tends to frustrate people and they don't always come back or threads become shit because of it.

Fun I agree with....but at some point purposeful derailment and even jokingly flaming turns much more serious in nature and can cause problems. Understand my position also that I was put in this position in order to keep these things from happening and enforcing the TOS when it is being violated. Like I said many times I will just delete the offending posts but today it seems everyone wants to be a dumbass and push all the wrong buttons that they know better than to push and so they recieve the agreed upon warnings and consequences.

Thats why Im thinking if we had a separte forum where this kind of behavior would be tolerated it would be cool. Now, I want to make it clear that if such a forum existed there would not be a tolerance for any kind of behavior that violates the TOS, such as foul language, racist slurs, deragatory name calling, just a little flaming here and there with the occasional your mama jokes.

This would simply be a forum where people could make fun of each and thread derailment wouldnt really be thread derailment. I understand that when people come to offtopic and ask a question it is more than often hard to get a real answer out of anyone. This way there could be two separate arenas and it would cut the crap that goes on in offtopic and it would remain serious here.

 

chill out for a second this could be a good thing. i never said i dont like it here, im simply saying it could make it easier on the mods.
