you can't just all of a sudden jump to the first inhabitable planet found.

you said: There are no resources there, why would you go there if you ran out?
Hey buddy when you live on the moon send me a letter telling me about your magical resources.
And to clarify things your the idiot, the moon isn't a planet genius

theres no logical flow here, i never stated that there were resources on the moon, and i never stated that the moon was a planet. we learned 89274393874923 things by going to the moon that will help us find, and maybe even land on, other planets.

As for the second part i guess you just lack empathy.
Why send explorers to visit the Americas, Asia, Africa? Why explore your surroundings? Why go to different areas of your city? You want to know what's around you. It's a basic human instinct.

The fact is, that the exploration of space and the space program benefits us greatly today. We wouldn't have computers like we do today if it weren't for the space program. Or fuel cells. Or satellites (which means long distance calls would cost a crapload of money, there would be no GPS, there would be no satellite TV or radio). Our understanding of the human body was augmented by the space program. Our understanding of our planet was augmented by the space program. And, the Cold War and the Soviet Union partly occurred due to the space program.

I'm assuming that you don't want to argue because we are all ripping your ideas to shreds?

everything from how the human body reacts to extended time in space to physics of spacecraft to landing on different objects to what kind of dried food tastes best etc..

mercury made gemini possible because it showed that they could get a hunk of metal with a person in it into space and back safely. gemini made apollo possible because it showed that humans can work and interact in space for longer periods of time. apollo made _______ possible because it showed how to aim for a target, launch something so big, coordinate movements happening millions (?) of miles away, computing power needed 'n shit like that, blahblahblah. if nasa wasnt so cash strapped towards the end of apollo, there definitly would've been something else that built up on the knowledge gained from apollo to go out even further, which we're doing now as we speak with mars.

and don't say how i only named a couple. i'm no nasa guy.

i try super hard :chuckles: its true though. he's pulling shit out of his ass, and we're giving him facts. I guess he equates us picking on him to us losing an argument, then naturally, he must leave. Too bad, I was really hoping to hear on why I'm inferior.

I find it hard to believe that people still believe that the moon landing was a hoax. They claim that NASA was powerful and smart enough to maintain a coverup for 35+ years, yet stupid enough to let things like no stars in pictures, flag waving, no blast crater, and other photography errors slip through their all-powerful hoax-making fingers?

That site that Han Frodo posted essentially debunks the Moon-landing-as-a-hoax thing all by itself. I remember reading through this site several years ago, and it looks to be even more complete now. However, I will add in that if it had been a hoax, the USSR would have called us on it immediately. Did they? No. They tracked our orbiters, verified where our radio signals were coming from, and then congratulated us on landing on the moon. Were the russians in on the moon landing hoax? I think not.
