I for one agree with it. We've been needing a standardized ID card for the country for a long time. The one thing about it that bothers me is the provision stating that the department of homeland security can add requirements to the card. ie, retinal scan, dna scan, etc.

The thing that gets me is that there's a provision in it's passing that it's legality cannot be questioned in the courts... or so I've heard...

I also don't like it because it's a shady ornament bill tacked onto an unrelated war spending bill. I agree we need to standardize identification, but I fear it may be to draconian in existance...

It's true, READ THIS ARTICLE:

That's one HUGE problem right there. I don't know anyone in their right mind, repub or dem, who would agree that that's a good idea. It's scary as hell to see our lawmakers wandering down that path.

Not to mention, these federal IDs are being paid for by making the states foot the bill instead of the federal gov. That's a terrible idea.

:werd: I can't see why this practice is allowed to continue. This is a huge flaw in the system.

I'm not a fan of big brother. h: So I'm uneasy to this. But that's my own paranoia. :exnbp:

So does our bar code go on the back of our necks as a tatoo or do we get a cool implant in our hand?
