Default rsx's first body scar....

So i park in the garage, get out and find this chunk of paint missing from my rear right quarter panel, smack dead center. The damaged area is about the size of a small fly.

Anyone know the best way to address this? I took it to a body shop.. and the guy says my best bet is to get some acura touch up paint, apply it.. and wait a few days, use some 1500 grit sand paper on the area.. and buff it out. He says it will look alot better.

Is this correct?

thanks
Sean

Btw- the car has freakin 980 miles on it

If you're not confident doing it yourself you could always take it to a detail shop. But that'd be expensive.

if it really bugs you take it to a body shop. detail shops or ding removal places can only touch it up, but it will still be visible.

i had two dings which caused paint to chip off on my door. ended up having most of the door painted for $300.

the body shop said my paint would be near impossible to match.. and that it will look just fine touched up and buffed.

Ill start with the first option and work from there. Its just unforuntate that its so noticeable location wise. not fair i tell ya

Not all detailers will do touch up.

Find one that does and they won't charge you much for one chip.

It's not that hard to do it yourself if you research it.

You may also look into the Langka systems if you are scared to wetsad. Honestly 1500 sand marks are a bitch to take out, so 1800 would be a better choice.

solution: find a good body shop.
All paint is damn near impossible to find an exact match...but any decent body shop will be able to make it look like it's a perfect match.

besides that the paint is brand new, and has not had time to fade.
