Default first home opinions needed..

I'm looking to buy a house soon and was wanting some other opinions. I'm 26 and this would be my first house and not something I'll stay in for more than 10 years. The only affordable new houses are condos or townhouses with monthly fees and most don't have garages, all around 200k+ before add ons. Being that this will be my first and I have a puppy, I am leaning towards something with a yard and a garage. Something like what you see below. 3BR 2BA, decent yard. What do you think? If I buy new, I can gain equity quick but not as much on an older home.

Do you mean build new? Cause any existing home is not considered new.

That house is how much?

Virginia is beautiful country, but cannot believe how much land/houses are compared to GA.

Use your common sense.

I'm sure that house is probaly gone or has 10 contracts on it. But something 3BR 2BA with a garage is definitely what I'm in the market for.

if you plan on living there for more than 3yrs, why not get a decent fixer-upper? Make sure it's just little things that you can do to make the house nice, no roof/foundation projects.

I think that is fine for your first house.

Build up some equity, and then find the house that you really want, and can afford.

find a house you cant afford, do whatever you can to qualify for an i/o loan. after 3yrs, sell it and find another house

Looks pretty good, personally for me I would not buy a house that was more than 10 years old. The maintenance that comes with them is such a pain in the ass. What kind of a neighborhood is it in? Rate of appreciation is greatly affected by the surrounding area. What type of finance plan are you using?
