best buy test: it's awesome! works well, just like buttons, but will be a must for the ipod controlling

nothin but alpine's and pioneers for me...never a problem with either deck...i don't particularly care for the quality of clarion's lower end units. it's too bad alpine has changed manufacturing from USA to China on a lot of their decks

p.s. i dont like that clarion one bit. 5.1 is pretty pointless unless you plan to utilize it, in addition, the 5.1 probably sucks since they have stand alone 5.1 processors to perform that function.

my advice: stay away from that clarion.

i've only played around with that HU at a store, it's pretty nice
I've had two clarion decks. The dxz735mp and the dxz535. The 535 was great, just a cheap cd-only player (no mp3), but I loved it. then it got stolen.

I replaced it with the 735, but I later found it was a refurbished unit. I had the internal amp fry out, but that wasn't a big deal (everything else was fine). Eventually, it stopped taking cd's and I had it repaired under warrenty. and now I have to slap the cd area to get it to read sometimes h: But again, this is a refurbished unit.

I figure I may as well progess up to the 945

you had your hateraid this morning, huh?

I hate the way all the alpines look, and add that everyone and their mom has one. Kenwood is total crap. Panasonic and JVC are kinda subpar (I'd rank them with pioneer). I was thinking about elcipse, but they're overpriced and underfeatured (no removable face :ghey: ).

damn, I should have got a sony deck

I don't have Ipod, nor do I want Ipod. Mp3's burned to cd's work better for me.

this does have an aux input. I need one.

and I never liked pioneer after owning a few of their decks (dehp3200 and dehp6400)

playstation2 and a 5" screen makes me pretty much need the 5.1

and how do you know it sucks if you've never heard it? I fucking LOVE opinions like yours. you're the same kinda people that are telling me to get alpine and pioneer.

my advice: stay away from that clarion.
too late, I bought it.

nice hifi system you have there. 5.1 doesn't mean squat unless you have good amps, good speakers, a decent deck and proper speaker placement. from the sound of it you have none of that. what kind of speakers you running? optimus?

excuse me? take the cock out of your ass. i know clarion's freakin suck except for their higher end pro audio line. how do i know this? experience. i know that pioneers and alpines are extremely reliable. how do i know this? experience. i've been a car audio enthusiast for about 10 years now. you asked for an opinion and im giving you mine based on experience...if you can't handle it don't ask.

too late, I bought it.
sorry to hear that....hope u don't lose your receipt.

and guess what? the 945 is their higher end proaudio line :reechy:

and I know that pioneers are extreamly cheap and have crappy sound quality (sure, they're loud ), and I know that alpines are extreamly ugly and they're overpriced with low-voltage preouts (unless you spend more)

i've been a car audio enthusiast for about 10 years now.
here's your cookie, I've been doing this for 12.

I asked about that particular clarion unit, and if you have no experience with it, then your opinion is pretty much useless. but thanks anyways.

sorry to hear that....hope u don't lose your receipt.
I don't think I'll need it, but thanks again
