Damn 5 spoke h: Been a while since I had to remember this stuff.

Personally I preferred the Magnum 44 heads for flow then add a better dual spring setup.

Well said, John. I used to be greatly immersed in the VW bug and its history. I've owned 5 of them and my wife has had 2 new beetles. h:

I've owned:
'56 ragtop oval
'59 resto-custom
'63
'67
'73 Superbeetle (Mexican version...)

Wife's:
2002 1.8T yellow beetle
2005 1.8T powder blue convertable beetle

Pics of the '59 hotness:

Thanks!

No, I had one of those on the '73 for a while. The '59's was totally custom. Had an SS race header on it with a custom exhaust made that wrapped around and dumped right behind the rear passenger tire. It looked so clean. I never got to finish it.

:edit: Oh, and those are real empi 5 spokes.

Real Empis...what a prize and $$$$$$$$

Yeah I had a single quietpack on my 58 for a while that tucked up in the wheel well too it was nice but once I went turbo it shredded and I had to run a Supertrapp stinger setup.

I hated the stinger but I had to have it

I honestly don't remember. My family and I took a trip to CA at one point and happened upon them. I was so hardcore VW back then I had to visit all the VW shops no matter where we were. :chuckles:

I really wanted to go turbo on mine, but didn't know much about it and was still in HS so didn't have the money for it either. I had no idea you had one, John. What year? Pics?
