"StirTV is the first show for and about Asian America's next generation. It’s a fast-paced, half-hour, magazine-style TV show hosted by 6 energetic, young Asian American hosts who report on the latest trends in their culture; fashion, music, sports, gaming - anything and everything affecting Asian Americans.
In 2003, KTSF-TV in San Francisco and cable network International Channel realized they were pursuing the same programming goal: to produce a television show which would feature young, English-speaking Asian Americans, who would report on issues that appealed to young, English-speaking folks like themselves. Thus, after hundreds of meetings and a casting call with 300 talented would-be hosts…StirTV was created.
Co-produced by International Channel and KTSF-TV, StirTV premiered on March 3, 2004 and completed its run of 26 original episodes in September 2004. Season 2 of StirTV premieres nationally on International Channel, December 1, 2004 and on KHNL-TV (Honolulu, Hawaii), KSCI-TV (Los Angeles, California), KTSF-TV (San Francisco, California), and SINO-TV (New York, New York) on December 4, 2004.
