i used to get spam from an sn i posted on friendster/myspace/etc.

 

i heard it was viruses...

my friends never IM me with links to executables

 

turn your security settings up.

 

I use Trillian and haven't gotten one of those since I switched over

 

I got the IM from one person on my buddy list a couple times but the link didn't work.

Does this mean my computer is messed up, or just the computer of the person who sent it to me? I haven't gotten it from any other people nor have I gotten any indication that my computer is sending IMs out to people on my buddy list.

I'll run ad-aware and spybot just in case.

i had that before, its a virus, it then starts to im all ur ppl in ur buddy list with the same thing, it would put my bl on away all the time automatically. my friend a program that removes it and it has never came back.

 

I go through spurts where i'll get 2 or more a day for a week or so..then i wont get any. Havent had any for awhile now. I just close the IM and forget it. :dunno:

 

I've never gotten one at all.
