Help! Which program do I need?
Ok I need some help choosing a program that will convert all my Windows media music files into mp3 format. Which one will do it with the least amount of hassle, and i'm willing to pay some $ if that's the case.
I looked at winamp.com and their WINAMP PRO edition seemed like it would do it. But my question about winamp pro is will it do it from previous files that have already been ripped or will you have to start new from a fresh rip? Any advice or previous experience with winamp pro or other similar programs are much appreciated. Thanks!

wmas downloaded from programs like napster are often protected. ive downloaded some torrents that have protected wmas and itunes can't convert them. if you used windows media player to rip your cds, they are probably fine.

Well i d/l the free version of winamp and it seems like a pretty cool program. Now my question is how can i make it my default player over windows media player? If i delete Windows media player can it somehow convert them files to mp3 format or will winamp not be able to play them? Sorry for all the dumb questions but I don't have much knowledge in music media stuff.
The only reason i want to even attempt this is because WMA won't play on my damn PSP.

Still here... sorta...
To make it default to your mp3's just go to one of your .mp3's, right click, open with, choose program, select winamp and check the "always use this program" checkbox. That's the easy way.
