To make it default to your mp3's just go to one of your .mp3's, right click, open with, choose program, select winamp and check the "always use this program" checkbox. That's the easy way. 
back in the day i used to use winamp to convert my mp3s to WAVs so i could burn them. this was before the burning programs did it for you
