13.4s are around the 102-104mph range for Civics/Tegs. It's going to be quite a task to gain at least 6 mph from just a reprogram.

Correction: I ran his car when it was F23 turbo. lol...his quickest run was in the high 13's when he gave up with n/a and sold the car.

Its not stock now actually.

I have a P17 ECU with a Mugen chipset in it, but we are going to switch back over to a P27 (?) ECU with a new full custom program.

Yeah I agree, and if it doesn't then its really a no harm deal in the end. I am guessing if I can hit a 1.6 in the 60' it should drop me down a hair, add to that the 4 puck clutch, bigger slicks (kept slipping bead on the babys) and the improved fuel/air ratio I should be able to pick up soem time.

Argh, me barnacles....the domestic people really don't care who did the work, just if the car is fast....

I just always found that kind of boring myself.

I will say that the ECU I am using now is not now nor has it been doing anywhere near its full capable job, so yes it could drop my times that much since full possible useage has not been met

Not trying to be a dick but I will tend to trust my friend who has been doing nothing but wrench work for the last 10+ years and I have seen his work in action and trust his results.

Exactly. Its all in the person doing the tuning. Someone who has no experience in tuning can fuck up even the best stand alone AEM EMS system (like my friend with his h23 turbo who blow 2 motors with the EMS).

THe tuning is all in who does it, sure the AEM EMS is the top of the line, but u can do just as much with someone who knows their stuff, a good ecu and some good programs. My friend was able to drop about 1.5 seconds from his quarter mile from a p28 chip that he could adjust and change through his laptop...so yea it depends a whole lot on who's doing what.

Nightshade,

Yea i feel ya, i'm right there with you, over the import scene...too much trouble with cops and stupid people.
DO you really think u can get any cash from that motor? atleast half of what you invested into it?

Probably not so I may just park the engine on a stand in my garage until I find some random go cart needing an engine or maybe an EG hatch down the road.

Yea i feel ya, i paid about 2700 for my h22 with lsd when things were hot..now its just sitting outside and people wont even give me 1500 for it....sucks ass but what you gonna do...live and learn. FOr me atleast was not to invest so much money into my 1st car...learned from that quickly. Now its off to a simple 5 Series hopefully, but thats it, something sporty and with a bit of luxury. :happysad:
