Who here's from Chicago?
I'm heading to Chicago this afternoon/evening for the jewish holiday of Passover. Which basically consists of eating dinner at my grandma's place in Hyde Park.
Theoretically I could just drive the 2.5-ish hours there, eat dinner and hang out for a while, then drive home.
I have also been given an invitation to spend the night. The thing is unless I go out it would be imminently boring because my grandma has like, no cable tv, no internet, and the last time I visited her I couldn't even find a good wifi signal to leech off of someone else.
That leaves me with the alternative means of having a decent evening: going out on the town. I figure Chicago's a pretty decent place to get a drink, right? Now I don't exactly know anyone who lives in Chicago, so um, got any suggestions?
Just to give you an idea of where I'll be starting out from: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1640+e...0.314500&hl=en

Chicago is a blast, but I am not that familiar with the bars and what not. When I was there, I was taking boards and went out abunch of people from school down near Lakeshore
right now the weather sucks its cloudy and cold so aint much to do...if you do decided to head over here then hit up downtown, youll bump into something. just stay away from the cabrini green projects and west chicago :uhhok: ... last time i was near downtown i got my driver side rear window bricked by some b***h ass gangbangers....funny how i left my area to get away from it all.....
i'm from the chicagoland area...
for sushi place i'd say hit up Starfish Sushi on Randolph it's a pretty sweet place, went there for the first time after the Chicago Auto Show, i recommend that...
otherwise i haven't been down there to drink to much due to driving issues...but i've been to Flannigans (sp?) and Bar of Chicago which is right across the street from it, those places were alright, nothing to go crazy about.

About Northwestern, my grandma lives basically right outside of downtown so I don't see much point in dragging myself all the way up to Evanston.
