bmw guys... help me out here...

a kid that banks with my c/u has a 96 318ti. it has the ///M emblem on the door molding. what's the story there? i asked him if they made the 318ti with an M package and he looked at me like he obviously bought the bmw cuz its a bmw and not cuz he has any enthusiast ties.

 

maybe he bought it used and the previous owner put it on?

 

well he did buy it used, i just didnt know if there was any reason BMW would have put it there or is it the equivalent of a ricer putting a type R sticker on his integra?

i didnt see the back to check if there was an ///M on the hatch lid too or just the door moldings

 

if it makes you feel better, i saw an grey ls integra with type r stickers on them, and it had hubcaps.

I thought it may be a black one that someone I knew had. They were somewhat un-common around here (318's with M package)
