Why is my car so slow!
Well, most(not counting the V6s)Accords are just slow in general(assuming it's stock with a stock engine). Accords, in my view, are 'family cars with a little pep and good handling'; that's all. A friend of mine had a '99 ex coupe auto. He had most of the bolt-ons you can get for it at the time. No nitrous or turbo. He raced a 2000 Integra LS 5 speed that was stock and the integra beat him pretty good. So if you want your accord to be somewhat fast, you're going to have to shell out a lot of cash and get some kind of boost.... or do an engine swap. Just getting 'bolt-ons' will not make your car any faster. Hell, my Accord is just barely faster than a 5th gen ex(stock vs. stock).

An ACCORD IS NOT A RACE CAR!!!!!!!.
Plus,....you shouldnt be racing on the highway.
The GM V6s are no slouch...especially the 3.8s (such as in the Buicks) have decently quick acceleration.

They appeal to older people because of their size, comfort and brand loyalty and heritage, but they're not specifically made for old people. If that were the case, Cadillac sure as heck wouldn't have had 300+ hp V8s under their hoods for the past 15 years.

BTW, being able to beat a stock F22 Accord doesnt make it fast. 0-60 times were in the mid-high 9 second range (for the autos) when the magazines tested them. The manuals I believe were clocked at 8.9 second to 60 mph. Top end is useless. Most family sedans nowadays are running well below 8 seconds.
That 3800 series engine is strong....its got nice pick up, and really good top end power. They have them in the Impalas that we have in work, and they can walk V8 Crown Vics any day of the week.
