Ok, get this, I saved up about 700$ for new suspension setup, and the day I was going to go buy all my stuff, I get pulled over for a random seatbelt check, and he decides to tell me I was going to fast (never got me on radar). So he says hes just going to check a few things, and wanted me to shut off my car. I was like ok I have nothing to hide. So I shut it off, and he asks if he can look under my hood, I said ok. So I open up my hood, poped my trunk, and he starts lookin at my tires, and measures the tread, and looks at my windshield and says "you know you have a large crack in your window" I said "yes it just happend a few weeks ago", he said he had to give me a ticket for that (75.00). Thats when I got pissed... And then he goes on and on : illegal engine modifications = ($350.00 fine). All because I had no stickers or paper to prove that they are legal (intake, header, exhaust, MSD ingition). And then he said he could hear me coming from a mile away because my exhaust was so loud, which is a bunch of crap because I was not even on the gas (coasting down a hill, and brakeing), because my radar detector was going off so I was doing the speed limit. And he said I flew past him... Oh and on top of that, my insurance card was expired by 8 days.. Yet my policy is still good for 6 months. And he gave me a ticket for that, and said if I prove to the judge that I have insurance they will drop that ticket. I had a little respect for cops befor this happend, but now its all down the drain because of this one local pig.

All in all, my ticket came out to almost 800.00, so there goes my suspension... And now I have to miss a day of work, to go to court and fight the violations, speeding ticket, and prove I have insurance.

Has this happend to anyone in here? I swear this cop pulled me over because of the car I drive... I bet if I would have been in my truck, it never would have happend...

Quit your bitching. I am so sick of people complaining about cops. A few years ago my inspection was a week late, and the day I was going I got into an accident that wasn't my fault, and the cop wrote me a $200 ticket. Did I bitch? No, because it was my fault.

Yes, I've experienced it. It sounds like you can have a lot of that taken care of in court by providing the proper documentation. You say you were going the speed limit too so it looks like your biggest problem is fixing the windshield and having to take days off. Remember to breathe though and realize that not all cops are bad. Good luck.

 

Put those CARB stickers in a visible place, and you won't have a problem. He did sound a little anal though, as far as the tread checking goes.
