Pigs... No respect...
I've probably been pulled over by all the sherriffs in my town for nothing more than "modified exhaust". By keeping all of my papers in order, and being helpful and polite during all the pullovers, I haven't gotten one modification ticket (And only one threat of one from a motorcycle SBPD, but he was an asshole and was obviously pissed I knew the exhaust law well enough to quote it to him to prove him wrong). Shit happens, and you had a fair amount of stuff that should have been taken care of, so while he may have been an ass, you weren't a victim...

Well, after I get pulled over and they walk up to the window, they usually go:
"Do you know why I pulled you over?"
"No officer, did I commit a traffic violation?"
"No, I noticed you have a illegal modified exhaust"
At this point I ask them politely if I can open my glovebox, and I reach in and take out the sound test papers that GReddy provided me proving that in CA, the exhaust is 100% legal. Looks very official and, while sometimes they call for their local "Street Racing expert", it usually deflates them quite a bit.
I also offer to pop the hood and show them that all my carb numbers are intact and valid, and I also hand him the EPA greencard for my cat. Usually this is enough information and 50% of the time, they don't bother popping my hood. If they call the "Street Racing expert", then he usually comes, and uses my car as an example of what's legal and instructs the other cop on how to spot illegal modifications. This usually makes the first cop feel dumb and start to crack really stupid jokes to make it seem like this whole pulling-over thing was just a friendly little checkup. They check for warrants, and I'm on my way, about 15-20 minutes late...
I dont have one of those forms, Can you tell me how to get one? I have a greddy evo. they usually tell me mines just to loud. But they don't do a decible reading. In Va. they say anything louder than factory is illegal.

Wow, really? I live in Northwest WA as well, and I am Airforce. And I dont know where you drive, but, Lakewood, Bremerton, and Bellingham are the worst places to be in a car like mine. The cops in these areas are not very nice, and will pull you over just because.
I have yet to get a court date. And I am a little more understanding and calm about the situation. My bad about bitching, I just had noone else to bitch to, and you are the best bunch of people to bitch to.
P.S. I dont know what some of you are flipin out about... Is noone aloud to complain about the law around here? You say " I am tired of reading about it", yet I hardly ever see anyone bitch about cops.
Also, since that day, I have a new/used (no cracks or chips) windshield, 16" TSW blades with Kuhmo ECSTA's, and my car is 2" lower. And I bet in less than 1 month from today, I will get folowed by a cop, or maybe even pulled over for a seatbelt check. And when I do, I will have all of my CARB stickers.
My Exhaust is custom, 40 Series Flowmaster Muffler and I bought 2 1/2" manderel bent pipe from a place online and had a shop weld it up for me.
This past monday I was rear ended on the freeway, (not bad) just messed up my rear bumper.
I was folowing some little VW " about 2 car distances away" and they closed down I-5 to one lane, so everyone was creeping through, and this VW didnt see that everyone was almost at a stop, and so at the last minuite he slams on his brakes, and I see him slow way down, so I start to brake hard, and to the shoulder of the road (to avoid hiting him if I cant stop in time) and I stoped about 2 feet away and 1/2 of my car is on the shoulder, I look in my rear view mirror and see a big ass SUV flying up on my ass, so I start to take off onto the shoulder and he smashed into me and I flew up next to the guy I was behind.
Estimated damage (5-800$), so I plan on geting a new bumper, and there was a small indent on my rear drivers side fender (main body part), and get that fixed, and paint my car a different color.
I am thinking the blue that Subaru WRX has. With just a pinch of some pearl.
