Pittsburg day trip
Oh god no.....please. You can do better than Quaker Steak - it's just a chain restaurant that's all over the place. Take yourself to the Southside. Go to Fat Heads, Piper's Pub, one of those places. Tons of things to do down there. Walk up and down carson street. That's my neighborhood. It's fantastic. You won't have to spend too much money. There are a lot of cool stores to walk into and look around in, tattoo shops, hookah bars, candy stores, free art galleries...etc. Anything you could possibly want can be found down there, and it's a neighborhood with a lot of young people. You'll love it.
If you want to experience the real pittsburgh, avoid cranberry, robinson, and the suburbs. Nothing in those places is "true" pittsburgh.

Also the Andy Warhol museum on the north side. All of these museums and the southside are pretty close, just have a good map (the google one is good). Andy Warhol museum is one block to the right of PNC Park on the north shore on that map. You won't miss it once you get over there.
Oh, and if you can get yourself up early on saturday morning, head to the strip district (smallman st) right next to the convention center. In the morning it becomes a giant open air market - cool stuff.
