Default dell pc problem / ?

ok so i receive my new dell pc.
I didnt want XP home so i immediately formatted the drive and preped it for xp pro.

When the xp pro formats and then copies the install files to the drive after that it reboots the pc.
Once it reboots the pc it will not boot off the hard drive.
The pc just recycles itself.

I dont get an error message at all.
The pc did not come with a restore cd which is pissing me off right now.

Since this harddrive is serial ata do i need to install some additional drivers or something to allow the pc to boot off of the hard drive.

Since I wiped out the dell factory installed stuff in it im pretty ass;d out right now.

I dont want to call dell yet.
If i do it will be to have them mail me a restore cd

go to dell support for your pc and download the sata drivers for your motherboard. Copy the driver onto a floppy. Next boot to the xp cd, watch the status bar at the bottom it will say something like press so and so key to install raid or sata drivers.

hope this helps.
