Default SO excited

So I just got an email saying that our house will be finished by mid April! The original projected complete date was May 31!! :blue:
So our final walk-through is going to be on the 14th of April and our closing appointment is on April 28th! :awais:
Does anyone have any tips of what to look for during the walk through (common mistakes...)??
I can't wait!!
Here's a pic of the outside (taken Mar.13)...the only thing that has changed is they put the rest of the shutters on..our door will match the shutters (They also have the boards up to pour our driveway/porch/sidewalk/patio)

That is a lovely home. Take some little sticky spots or post it notes and put them on any discrepancy, noting them in your PDA/notebook or scrap of paper. Open and close every door and window, make sure all the outlets work(small lamp handy for this), lights and other electrical check out. Look under sinks and stuff to see that they were tidy installing them. Take a good flashlight, and clothes that you don't mind climbing around in. It is a new house, so most everything should be cool, you will want to be sure the sheetrock is done right, that sort of stuff

very nice house, congrats

I would have an inspector check it out. It'll be worth his fee to know it was inspected by a professional.

Thanks for the tips guys...I would have never thought to take a small lamp to test the outlets!
All I had thought of so far was turning on all the sinks, flushing the toilets, opening doors/cabinets, turning on furnace/AC, etc..

Make sure that you check all the caulking around the windows, make sure that all the appliances work (furnace, AC, dishwasher)

Also make sure that the carpet is stretched correctly, and that all the trim (especially on the underside of windows) has been painted.

Good luck on the house, it looks great :bigok:
