my only fight was in 8th grade, my neighbor was holdin me down on the ground, so i yelled at my other friend that was there, and he ran over and dove knee first onto the kid's back.. he walked off crying

When I got home, though, my sister told my dad what happened, and my dad said that if anybody attacked me, I should defend myself. Well, the next day, the kid tried the same shit again...but this time while he was on top of me on the ground, I flipped both of us over and got on top of him and started punching him in the face.
In 8th grade, when I first got back from Greece, all the kids in my middle school used to make fun of me. One day, they were laughing at my shorts ('cause I guess they were shorter than what most kids here wore), and I just got mad so I got in this big black kid's face. He would've kicked my ass, but since I stood up for myself, we were cool after that.

my temperament predisposes me to non-violence even when a situation escalates. I've only been in one fight with a non-friend/relative, and it was pretty lame. I have kicked the snot out of my brother and a few buddies and vice versa... but thats different.

mostly my history, too.
i used to fight for friends though when they wouldnt do it themselves. like somebody f'in with em at the school yard, even if they didnt think it was worth it, id throw down for 'em.
anymore, i tend to avoid situations where things may get ugly but if somebody starts trouble and things get heated i usually end up with my gf or sister in between me and the asshole before i can smear him and do an overnighter.
