The strange thing is they wouldnt sell him one cause he isnt one of those elite ferrari owners.
I didnt know you had to be on a list or something for a ferrari
Or was it that the dealer probably thought we were just a couple of broke kids that cant afford that car? ( Despite that he is rich )

Here is an FYI for you Shawn...
You want to know why I like Ferrari? Aside from the fact that they are still dedicated to racing and 90% of Ferrari enthusiasts are more interested in racing than a way of life. Aside from the fact that every Ferrari board I am a part of or every Ferrari owner I talk to is more interested in what the F car does in F1 and other series, unlike this forum and most Honda forums where people tend to forget where Honda started in - racing.
I remember the early 90s when the Ferrari F1 program was a joke, Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger were two boneheads who couldn't win a race without the whole field dnfing. I remember telling everyone that Ferrari would bounce back with vengeance. I remember the anger during the 1999 season when a certain Irish bloke named Eddie Irvine effed up even though he had more than one opportunity to seal the driver's title for Ferrari. Enzo Ferrari was a humble man who created an empire, the philosophy he had of making road cars and using the money for racing is still alive.
My love for Ferrari is superceeded by one name and one car, the late great Mr. Ayrton Senna and the McLaren Honda MP4/4. No matter what Ferrari does in F1 they will never be able to emulate the 1988 season when Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna won all but 1 race. They fought like real men, no one was getting sloppy seconds and there was no favoritism.

h:That is one reason I wouldnt buy a Ferrari. I dont like that elistest crap. And also I can never really afford one
h: But I would honestly take the high end Porsches than the lower model Ferraris.

it's like they are forcing you to buy one sutomobile before you can buy the other....
would they make an exception if say, you rolled up in a NSX?

we looked at the 360 spyder and the sales man basically looked at us like we were just kidding around. Thats when he told us about that elite crap.
In a way it makes sense why they keep it on the elite side. but, then again if your willing to pay XXX,XXX,....XX dollars than who cares. Its more money for them.
They did that to use at Mercedez also.
They didnt give us that elite membership excuse but they did treat us like we werent going to buy anything. No one helped us etc....
So we went to BMW and he got himself a M5 and we went back to Mercedez to rub it in their face. ( that was a wonderul feeling )

I am sure it has everything to do with how you present yourself. But I have also heard about the "list" that you have to be one to purchase one. I just now found out that the list is limited to higher models.
h: What were you doing test driving them?
Got bored one day?
