f*ck metallica and their allegiance to the RIAA. that said, their best stuff (by far) is their old stuff, and that's all i listen to when i listen to metallica.

I'm like the biggest Metallica fan ever. I'm not happy with what Lars & the rest of Metallica did with the whole RIAA situation, but that should deter from their musical talent. I agree that their older albums, Kill'em All, Ride The LIghtning, Master of Puppets & ...And Justice For All were some awesome stuff, but they had a lot of hits off of the albums that followed. The Black Album had a ton of songs on there that had an impact on my life at a young age. And each of the albums that followed had their good moments. I'll admit that "St. Anger" fell below my expectations, but after I listened to it a few times, I got to liking a few songs. The only part I really didn't like about it was the drumming. More specifically, the snare. Lars didn't put the chains on his snare, so it sounded more like another tom than anything. I still miss Cliff Burton, he was one the best and most influential bassists ever...R.I.P. Cliff.
