first of all.. an f'n case. i cant decide, ive looked at every case on newegg, and i still dont know. anyone have a basic nice case with front usb and firewire they can suggest?

a video card and a sound card also. sound card, i was thinking jsut a soundblaster live 24 bit. video card, no clue what to get.

my parents are paying for this, since my computer got wrecked int eh flood, and they feel sorry for me so i want good stuff, that will last me a while.

any suggestions are appreciated

 

not to bash your choice, but i've always hated sony... all their stuff seems to be tempermental to me....

 

i dunno, i have a sony cd-rw and i love it, thats why i chose sony. what do you think i should get?

also, in order to back up dvds, do i need a dvd rom also?

 

i have a 4x sony... burned about 100 dvds so far

newegg has the nec for 60

you dont need a dvd-rom, you can just use the same drive to copy, then burn

I have the Sony DRU-710A...absolutely no complaints here. And I've heard it referred to as the best DL DVD-R drive on the market.
but you could get the corresponding Lite-on model (Lite-on builds the drives for Sony), for cheaper.
