Default who here hates used car lots?

So I called on two Integra's and one Prelude all in a town three hours from my house last night, I show up at 8:30 this morning and all three lots "seem to have lost track of that car" since 8pm the night before, yeah right, then the a$$hole salesman says "how about this eagle talon its practically the same car" before he could finish his crap sales pitch I was in my car leaving. Isnt bait and switch illegal? advertising cars they dont have then trying to get you to buy some p.o.s thats not an Acura. Yeah youre right mr salesman that wears too much cologne and hair gel I really didnt want an Integra what was I thinking? I should have slapped the guy. What was your worst experience at a car lot? I am just gonna save my money and buy a car off the street.

I bought my car off a used sales lot and within 10k miles, it needed over $2k in repairs including a new clutch. I was just a sucker for the freshly steam cleaned engine bay.

Used car sales lots mainly get cars from auctions or a car that they have taken in as a trade-in. Most of these cars are shitty, but on occasion you may find that lucky gem. You really get what you pay for if you get a certified used car from Acura, Honda, Toyota, etc. I'm in sales too, and a word of advise... salesmen watch for emotion and feed upon it as ammo to close you. Most people buy emotionally. don't ever get too excited because they look for it. Freakin' sharks are all these little used car lots are! and by the way, always bring someone who knows about cars and maintanence, they can fix up the cosmetics... but its whats inside that counts!

That is so true. My girlfriend's mom was googling over a Santa Fe and the slimey salesman bent over backwards to get her to buy it even though she had no credit and would be paying over 40k for a used Santa Fe with 20k miles. She bought it though and that is the worst part.

All in all, I think it's safer and easier to close sales person-to-person.
I won't buy any car unless there is documentation to prove major maintenance, so that immediately eliminates 90% of the used car brokers.

Caveat Emptor.

yea man... i experienced it once when my mom druled over a 1990 civic LX 3 years ago, and bought it for 5,000. it was a small car and saves gas . anyways after we bought the car we found out the t-belt was really worn and spent about 1,000 worth of repairs in the first month. i could of found the same car at that time for about 2g's if it were private seller.

but yea slater422, next time if some a$$hole salesman does taht, just act like u like the tailon or whatever car he introduses u, spend like hours talking and test driving the car and then just say im not interested at the end.. it will sure piss the heck out of him!!!

$5000 for a 90 Civic LX, even 3 years ago? Are you ****in serious? :lmfao:
I would hope it was at least in perfect condition and had less than 50k miles. I bet I could find 3 for that much money.
