No it doesn't. But it's not a reason to dislike a band you liked before they "got big" and once they fall off the mainstream bandwagon you treat them like a sloppy seconds dirty whore. h:

I'm not knocking you if you don't like them, I'm just questioning why people dis-own their musical interest once they reach Top 40.

They're all doing their little side projects anyway....I'm sure we'll be hearing from at least one of them sometime soon.

I'll repsect them for their longevity, but I can't say I'm a big fan...too poppy for me I guess. If I were them I'd take a big ass vacation too.

"doing something right" isn't the right idea - they were just in the right place at the right time. musically speaking, they're a complete joke. although their drummer is pretty decent, they are for the most part, lacking in any sort of musical talent or skill. give a mediocre guitar player a one day, and he can learn an entire blink 182 album. on the other hand, if you take a jimi hendrix or metallica album, it could take an accomplished guitarist a lifetime to master. that is not to say that their music doesn't have any value. as long as people like it, it has some value. the beatles, for example, weren't the most musically skilled group at all. but how will people remember blink 182 in ten years? or even five years? what separates really great music from mediocre or shitty music is the test of time

MONORAIL!

anyway. it's not the fact that they got popular that made them suck, they never were that great anyway. songwriting was kinda weak and the musical talent was... well let's just say that I took bass and electric guitar lessons and blink songs were used in both to teach with because of their simplicity h:

And I started listening when they came out with Dude Ranch.
