you've said this many many a times but that doesn't detract from the performance of the car much so it's really a non-issue for 99% of the driving population.

h:My friend has an 02 Passat, it seems all right. No major repairs as of yet, but some of the minor service items (like the climate control lighting) is not designed for user serviceability, but costs a buttload if you go to the dealer. I personally don't like how the cockpit is laid out, but that's just me.
