carp i deleted my documents from my desktop

Default carp i deleted my documents from my desktop

now the link/shortcut is gone from explorer and save as/load dialog box
how do i get it back?

1) Go find "My Documents"
2) Right-click and "create shortcut."
3) Place shortcut on Desktop.
4) Take a computer class.

Yeah I did that accidentally once. I have no idea how or when I did it....
But I can vouch for the shortcut not working. I just created a folder and called it my documents, and I regularly go in and update it so it will be ok.
I wish I knew how to restore it, short of running system restore....

To access the real My Documents, open a memory stick browser and hit the link on the left.

Open Windows Explorer or My Computer. Double-click on the C: drive, then double-click on the Documents and Settings folder. Double-click on the folder with your user name. Look for the My Documents folder in there, and create a shortcut to it. Then, cut and paste the shortcut to your desktop.
