Default So, I'm a Honda tech now.

I just started working at a local dealership this past thursday. It's nice to finally have a regular, real job. It's looking like I'm going to be the oil change bitch for a few weeks though. :happysad:

From reading you're threads/ posts I would have thought you had no mechanical inclination whatsoever... JK!

But that's cool for now though right. The simple job gives you a good couple of weeks to get adjusted to the shops flow, or lack thereof I guess.

Yep, that's the plan. I'm having a hard enough time memorizing everyone's names, the actual job is the easy part.

What sort of credentials do you have to have?

Sometimes on the first oil change, the original filter gasket sticks to the block. Careless mechanics put the new filter overtop, which means you now have a leaky double-gasket situation. Oil drips onto the hot exhaust manifold and the car bursts into flames. The problem has been pretty much resolved now.

A lot of driveway mechanic work... and I know a guy that works there (HatchVX on the forum.)

that's really cool. i'd like to work at a Honda/Acura dealership shop, but that would make my degree useless.
