then you wouldn't be driving til you're 21 and it would cost approximately $5000 to get a full license.

:werd:

And also, if you crash while on the Autobahn and it's deemed that you were doing an excessive speed, bye bye license.

Figured someone would chime in with the licensing procedure.
Who cares if we have more accidents? We should just let people go as fast as they want on the big open highways.

Germany is also much more strict about traffic control and obeying the rules of the road.

Here you could drive in the middle of the road and would take quite a while before you got pulled over.

I heard you can buy a "Get of of jail" free card. Pretty much if you get pulled over for a speed ticket, you give him the card and you're on your way without a ticket. Maybe it's true :dunno:

Yes it was reasonable and prudent speeds to be judged by the officer. Daytime ticket for speeding on limited roads was $5 excessive fuel consumption payable on the spot and no record of it. At night all fines returned to normal.

I have done 100 or so across the freeway in Montana and never had a problem passing a cop, but if you were doing it in a beater with a bald tire you get a ticket.

Montana has reinstated that law and removed it several times due to federal highway funding being pulled if they didn't.

Yeah I lived there for 6 years too.

Montana's freeways have speed limits now, but in Montana speed traps are very very rare. I took a radar detector on a trip to Kalispell, Montana, from Spokane, Washington, and there was not a SINGLE cop the whole way. Last summer I drove the other way from Kalispell, and I was doing 90+ a good portion of the time, passed about 8 cars in a span of 30 seconds (D15... baby). The roads are still fun, and still safe most of the time. There is no better place in the country to be a delinquent with your car.
