that's the trouble with these things... false or overly rated problems.

They are counting anything that comes from the internet, even a stray packet, as an intrusion attempt. Even though it's not.

Set it not to log the problems and then forget about it.

Top 2 antiviruses are Kaspersky and NOD32. Kaspersky is pretty much the king of detection, while NOD32 has a reputation of consuming very few resources at the expense of reduced trojan detection.

I once had McAfee "internet Guard Dog", and it caused a lot of lockups on my machine, which disappeared when I installed Norton.

However, I was noticing how much memory is used by Norton on my work comp. and it got me to thinking about making a switch. All the combined NAV apps. are using 21 mb (when running in the background) I need another stick of RAM, which doesn't help.

I'm about to put together a box for the house and am trying to decide whether to stay with NAV...hmm, maybe at least until my subscription is about to expire.

AVG in Windows :exnbp:
Nothing in Linux!

AVG is free (at least the free version is) and has just as much protection as any other virus program out there.

And Linux, heh. Out of the 50 or so known virus for Linux, NONE of them can do any amount of damage to the OS unless the root account doesn't have a password. Any Linux admin is smart enough to have a root password.
