The accord is a great vehicle, but it is pretty big and not that sporty and more of an older person's car. The TSX has a sportier and younger feel. I would go for the TSX as well over the Accord (atleast in this stage of my life). How far is that dealership from you?
James, I called up the manager at the Acura dealer today and they have no TSX's on the lot. He actually started chuckling because he said the people really seem to like them, as they are selling new ones quite well. Good luck

h: not to mention the fact that the 2 TSX's they have listed on their CPO page and autotrader are much cheaper than anything else we've seen
When you call a dealership out of the blue that's called a "bell call." Usually bell calls just go to whoever picks up the phone, so you're just as likely to get the best salesman there as the worst.
Also, turnover among car salesman is so high that one bad experience 7 years ago should really have no bearing on whether or not you make the trip.
If you haven't gone to this Paragon place before, I'd suggest going with their internet department. That's always the easiest way to deal with a dealership. The reasoning behind it is that the people savvy enough to get a deal with the internet department would be pain in the ass customers and take all your gross anyway, so better to just give em the best deal you'll do right away and get em in and out right quick.
So hit up paragonacura.com and check out their used inventory. They list two TSXes, one for $23995 and one for $22995. No idea if they have navigation, but just email them through the "contact us" link and they should get back to you. Most dealerships have specific internet-only staff and run everything on a no-haggle basis. So you email em and ask if either car has navi, and if yes then you make an appointment with them to check out the car. You go in, they have a salesman show you the car, the price is already set and you decide to either go for it or not. The only negotiating you'll have to deal with is in the finance office.
So I'd say go the internet route with this new dealer, and to give yourself some ammo in the finance office you should get preapproved for some kind of financing. At the very worst you end up with that finance rate, or the dealer will try and beat it. That makes the negotiating really easy because you won't have to grind on the finance guy to give you a better rate--he's gonna have to come down to whatever it is you're preapproved for.

Good advice Mike.
James is she set against Navi? If I got a TSX I would definetly get navigation. It makes the car. It totally changes the whole experience of the car. You can run everything through the navi and voice recognition system. Pretty sweet if you ask me. Reminds me of Knight Rider :rick:

wait so with the internet dept, do we tell them our willingness to pay price or do we just have to go with how much they have it listed for?
since i work at a credit union, after all of my employee discounts etc it will be tough to find a better rate through a dealerships finance dept :happysad:

when she was looking at brand new, she looked at navi as an unnecessary way to spend 3 grand more. now that she is looking more into the cert.p/o cars, if it fits her target price, she will take navi but she wont only buy cars with or without it.
