those 9 hours are a small sacrifice to save your car from potentially irrepairable damage, arent they?

I guess, but I rather have a car that does not have this problem to start with. The engineering was shit to start with.

All kidding aside though, I wanted to do this once. I still do. I want to own and mod a pristine e30. If you're a die hard e30 enthusiast then by all means do it. People generally don't like the car, even the m3, because price for the power isn't that great, unless maybe you drop a different motor in the car. For example, spend about $5k+ on the 2.5 l conversion for the s14 motor and you'll only get about 240 hp at the flywheel.
The m20b25 motor in the 325i and is doesn't even respond that well to mods either. A guy I know on the local forum did a 3.0 stroker conversion and spent well over $7k and only put out 220 whp. Although the engine still wasn't tuned, for that price, he could've just dropped in an m50 motor, put in some s50 cams and still save some money.
But I guess if you're just looking into having a stock e30, just find one that is in good condition, if that is even possible anymore. Rebuilding one will get expensive unless you do all the work yourself.
