Mazdaspeed 6. opnions...
I'd take the Legacy GT. Looks better, probably will be more reliable.
I was telling Mandi that the Mazda 6's V6 is Duratec V6 based by Ford. She was first in denial, then saddened, and is now back in denial.

The only advantage the MS6 might have is a bit more rear legroom. :dunno:
But even if it that were the case, I'd still go with the Legacy.
And Mike is spot on; comparing the MS6 to the EVO and STi isn't a fair fight.

And the V6 in the Mazda 6s only has a Ford block; it has Mazda heads.

This steroid-infused Mazda 6, which bears the Mazdaspeed name, will come stateside later this year. Motivation comes from a newly developed direct-injection MZR 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine featuring a single-scroll turbocharger and a relatively high compression ratio of 9.5:1. Paired with a standard six-speed manual with triple-cone synchronizers for first, second, and third gears, the 2.3 turbo delivers its 274 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque to Mazda’s new Active Torque Split all-wheel-drive system. Mazda claims torsional rigidity has been improved by around 50 percent compared to the standard 6, and the front control arm and rear multi-link suspension is considerably sportier, with larger anti-roll bars and stiffer springs and dampers. Rounding out the package are more aggressive front and rear fascias, flared side skirts, and 18-inch alloy wheels with 215/45R-18 tires. Mazda announced in L.A. that you could be twisting the key in a Mazdaspeed 6 for $27,995. For an extra two grand, Mazda will include the Grand Touring package, giving you keyless entry and leather seats with warmers in the front and eight-way power adjustability for the driver.
So um, where'd they mention the Evo or STi?

My friend's brother has the Legacy GT (traded in his Mustang) and that thing hauls ass! It's such a sleeper car too. 0-60 is like 5.5 seconds or so.

The 6 looks damn good IMO, but if I were looking in this segment I would have to seriously consider the Legacy GT. That engine does sound really good.
I just realized I'm going to miss the release of the Evo 9 just like I did the 8. This really sucks.

Who cares if you miss the release? Since its introduction the Evo 8 has gained a slightly different turbo, an active center differential and a limited slip front differential. Not to mention that it's far easier to buy one now than it was right when it came out.

According to Mitsubishi's site, all '05 Evos have "Full-time AWD with Active Center Differential, front helical torque-sensing limited slip differential and rear 1.5-way limited-slip differential" as standard equipment.
