Tugged... nothing out of the ordinary.. seems sturdy.. I pulled on it.. and the only movement is the car shaking from being tugged on...

 

I wouldn't worry about it too much safety wise..

I know how I can fix it. My car has this awesome dial inside of it... you turn it to the right.... and all the problems that you can hear go away.

Most likely its your CV going out.

Best way to fix it is actually also the cheapest and that is to go to Napa (or your local parts store) and get a replacement axle. Grab some tools and a Haynes manual and spend the 20 minutes it takes to swap it out.

Its really simple and may take you an hour or so the first time but its nearly impossible to mess up and after the first time there is nothing to it at all.

 

the wheel should be off the ground to use that test properly.
