Thanks again for your help guys, and sorry for the "dumb" questions....

you'll need at least 2 if you want to cover engine as well as suspension parts.

1 low range say 10-40ft/lb for engine
and one high range say 30-200ft/lb for suspension parts and wheels of course.

I recommend the griots garage one. life time free calibration. you just need to mail it in. they are also accurate to + - 1ft/lb at any part of the range.

most torque wrenches (not the balla ones) are within 5ft/lbs at the middle of their range and can be off as much as 10 ft/lbs at the extreme end of their range.

Yep they are expensive but it's well worth the money. I've used the 30-150ft/lb one and it's very smooth. The torque setting is easy to do at any range. Unlike cheaper ones that gets harder to set at the higher ranges. I was very impressed and most tools don't impress me much.

Yep I had to trade in my Craftsman Torque wrench and they wouldn't take it back. They said they only take back HAND TOOLS not measuring devices/tools and other mechanical (gear driven or clicker) type tools.

I made a big enough scene though that they took it back and gave me a new one.
