yeah i know, people act so suprised when people talk about street racing, its been around as long as cars have been around, its just every generation has its own cars, if you think about it our parents had the deadliest cars, 69 camaros, 70's chevelles, mustangs, barracudas, 442 hurst hemi, i mean these are cars that with few mods run 10's, not to mention lack of safety devices in the car, and the handleing limitations of them.
But in all of this i do find it stupid to race on busy streets especially mid day afternoon, i have street raced before, but in tampa where it goes on they are a bit smarter then doing it on a major roadway in mid day afternoon, those 2 goons get what they deserve.

I remember that story. Glad to know the Mustang guy who attempted to flee turned himself in. I was just on that street yesterday.

The sentence is too damn light. Six years is not enough.

IMO, they deserve 15yrs minimum, and to have their driving priviledges permanently revoked. They were responsible for that woman's death, for chrissakes. :a:

I think that DRFrank's point was that it's not murder because they weren't intending on killing anyone.

It never used to be that way when I 1st started driving (back in 1989). But with the increase of street races and and deaths due to street racing the government started changing the laws back in 2000'ish.

That's like saying get someone liquiored up, send him out in a car and he kills someone, he really didn't intend to kill anyone - he just wanted to get home. There's always an excuse, which I hate excuses.

Not saying it's not his fault, nor that the person is not responsible for the death. It's just not murder. Murder is an action performed with the intent to kill. Vehicular homicide charges fit the crime committed.

You are driving a 3000lb death machine. If I walked into you with a knife by accident it would be the same as me running you over with my car. Both are weapons.

Don't worry you get to an age where you speak your mind
