Engaugement Ring???
its on the small side, but its not that bad. There are a ton of rings out there with .50 carat stones on them, so .75 isn't too shabby...the one I bought was 1.27 carat, (bigger than what I thought I was gonna get), but everyone's situation is different. Regardless of the size, make sure you concentrate on the other "C"s as well, because they are probably even more important than carat weight. A large diamond that has bad quality looks just like that....a large piece of crap. Anyone will tell you that a slightly smaller stone of better quality is better than a larger one of worse quality.

its an engagement ring...it doesnt need to be that big or it looks gaudy...my g/fs best friend recieved an engagement ring that was over 3 carats and it was just way to big...now for the actual wedding ring a good quality 1 or 1.5 carat ring would be suitable
My aunt is a diamond dealer and she always recommend quality over size. You could have a 4 carat diamond that's yellow and chipped. Or a 1/2 carat that is perfect and still worth more.
Also realize that an engagement ring should be about 3 months of your salary OR whatever you can afford. Remember it's what the ring means not how big it is.
