What would you do if you were in a serious relationship and one of your parents didn't approve of the person you were seing?

 

find out their reasons and if their reasons are even plausable

 

It depends on the classification of serious. And why my parents didnt approve of her. If it was me I would seriously think about the relationship. I just finally realized this after being hard headed for so long. Family will always be there for you where as non family people wont.

 

there's a reason for everything, but most of the time, parents just need time to like someone.

 

not worr yabout it, unless the lady i'm seeing is pushing for marriage
and i won't marry anyone that doesn't fit in with my family.

i'm not willing to sacrifice my family for a female.

 

see why. if it was over petty issues, I'd continue dating the person. If it was due to something serious, I would ponder over it and make a decision.

I kept the relationship going..but in the end, found out that my mom's reasons for not approving of him were legit and justifiable. Didnt change the way i felt about him...just realized that we werent right for each other. I also didn't see this until after we had broken up.

It's always a great thing to have all the parents and families involved, liking you and approving of your significant other...but at the same time, you're an adult and you can make your own decsions.

Definitely find out how they feel and why they feel like they do. Then either explain to them the situation, or work on whatever the problem is. If the situation stays the same or gets worse, then you have to decide: family or relationship?

 

try both parents in my case. but it didn't matter to me. i'm the one that has to live with her. plus were still together after 10years (nearly 10 years).
