PS2 mod chips...
Ok so, I finally went out a old PS2 cause the slim one is out therefore its even cheaper now.
I want to get a mod chip for it so I can play the backup copies :chuckles: of the games that I buy.
I went online and found this one that requires no opening of the machine and voiding of the warrenty. Does it work as well? Any ideas?

i would get the network adapter, put a hard drive in it, get hdadvance 2.0 and copy the games to the hard drive. no mod chip needed, and you get faster loading times along with it. takes a while to copy the game to the drive, but it's worth it i think.

you could just download it, but you have to find a crack for it i believe (which is hard) and it's worth it to buy it (especially if you were gonna buy a chip anyway).

Net adaper and HDAdvance is the only way to go. Slide cards and swap disks are a pain in the ass and will not work with all games. HDAdvance has a few incompatible games, but nowhere near as many as a slidecard or swapdisks.
Flip top cover is a cheap way out. It's also good if you like to clean your lense ever month or so. A flip top will give you headaches down the road because alot of games nowadays are constantly streaming data off the drive.
