Try going to Texas, you will see LOTS of Latino, Black or whatever hunting deer. Okay, if this guy moved to this country in 1980, he has had 2/3 of his life to figure out how the program works here. If you are living in a country your ENTIRE adult life, you are not going to be totally clueless about the lingo and local customs. If you live that long someplace, making it your home, and fail to learn these things, you are an asshole and need to get the fvck out of my country. If I moved to Mexico, My Spanish skills would be A#1 inside of 6 months and you can be damn sure I would not be offendning the locals. If I moved to Canada, I would learn French, even if I lived in the English speaking parts, wear a toque when it was cold, eat donuts and tell people to "take off eh" every day. Maintaining your heritage and culture is one thing, not having enough respect for your host to make an effort to fit in is quite another. This guy is a mass murderer with an anger control problem.

your country? he is a US citizen, it's as much as his country as yours.

also I could hike within 5 miles of my house and wonder into private property and not know it.

Yeah, and I have no doubt that if someone told you to leave you would shoot him and his five unarmed friends. He may be a legal citizen, but if the nonsense about the Hmong not understanding the concept of private property, or the English language is true of this murderer after living here since 1980, it is not his country as much as mine. I can understand people moving to a new place and hanging with their homies for a while, but sooner or later you have to assimilate into the local society a little, otherwise you are not truly a part of that society.

I think blaming the gun is flawed in nature. Logically, if someone really wants to kill another person, they are going to figure out a way to do it, banning x gun isn't going to really change anything when there are 1000's of other ways of getting the job done.

Banning guns makes it that much more work to kill someone.

To me, there is no good justification for gun ownership other than the fact it's in the Constitution. Everything the gun apologists come up with doesn't make any logical sense.

Now if we had a culture in this country which was more open to interpreting laws as they apply to current circumstances rather than always adhering to the letter of those laws, we probably wouldn't have guns any more.

But because we have a country which is overwhelmingly populated by people whose own religion preaches sticking to the letter of its scripture rather than its intent or applicability, they just got in the habit of doing that when it comes to laws too.

Oh well, I guess we gun grabbing bleeding heart liberals won't be able to achieve the Star Trekkian utopia we want until we hoard a bunch of assault weapons and kill off all the strict constructionists.

Nope don't even own a gun. So you consider other culture to be nonsense? I for one am not taking sides. There were big huge mistakes made on both sides and because of the mistakes several people are dead.

And it's mine and his country as much as it's yours. The great thing about the US is that you do not have to conform or assimilate yourself. You can choose to be who you want to be.

I agree. But I think there is a lot more than meets the eye here. I just hope a fair trial is given and all the evidence is presented in a fair and clear manner. I know the attitudes of many people towards the Hmong culture in Northern Wisconsin. It's not nice at all. Poeple get really defensive because the Hmong culture came to "their" town and took "their" jobs. It's sad, but it's almost as bad as it was in the 40s in some smaller towns. I'm not saying everyone is like this, but the select few can sometimes out-number the silent many.
I would like to hear the truth for sure.

Recreation is not a good reason for gun ownership?
