Default how can i speed things up?

For the computer crew.. I have a P4 2.4Ghz and 512 ram. I sometime feel like my computer is running slow, i must say i havent taken the time to format my pc in like a year but I still want it to run faster. I was wondering if you guys had any idea on what i could do? would adding ram really speed things up for me? or is the setup i have good enough and i should look into something else then hardware?

defrag, clean up all your temp stuff, maybe a bigger page file, run msconfig and disable the startup stuff you dont need (helps with startup, nothing else), and maybe try overclocking just a little.

i also realize i'm reposting twice and i apologize.

I would also recommend running Ad-aware, Spybot S&D, and a virus scan.

THat's what I was going to suggest. I noticed after using that once a week my computer is fast even with an Athlon XP processor.

I also recommend VCOM Fix It Utilities. I think it's a great program that does everything from cleaning, defragmenting, optimizes your hd, etc.
