he was just upset because he couldn't get the scent of burning cross out of his favorite white hood.

while I don't like Rice and believe she will be more of a hinderance as Sec. of State, I don't agree with his comments...And neither do the Dems of that state:

Just because you don't like the administration means you're a Dem... who knows what this guy's political affiliation is? All we know is that he's damn retarded...

Actually, Mark Belling of Milwaukee[conservative talk show host] said the word "wetback" on air about two weeks ago. Mark Belling is much more well known than that guy in Madison as he has a radio talk show and a column in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newspaper. Anyways, yes, it made some noise, but less than, but not nearly as much noise being made about Sly .

People in WI are too moderate to think that strongly about any candidate. We tend to be liberal, but we did have a republican governor [Tommy Thompson, currently secretary of health iirc] for a long time. Anyways, I don't think that people actually hate those two. A lot of black people are proud that there are black people in office. Condi may be irritating, but whatever, we don't hate her or Powell.

I can say with full confidence that I don't care what color Condoleeza Rice's skin is, what gender she is, what sort of accent she has, or any of that other stuff. All I care about is that she's a hard line war hawk and that's not the type of person I want to see in a position of authority. The positions she has taken thus far in her role as national security advisor leave me with more than a little bit of doubt in her ability to conduct diplomacy in her new role as secretary of state.

Sly took the easy way out, which is stupid. If he had something negative to say about her, say stuff about her job rather than perpetuating the needless culture war that is going on in America.

Morning talk show people are the worst. They are in love with coffee (or worse) and the sound of their own voices. The truth is way down their list of priorities.

Colin Powell is just barely Republican. Some of you might recall that there was actually talk of trying to draft him for the Democratic Party ticket at one point, and he makes no secret of the fact that he is left of most Republicans.

Calling him an Uncle Tom is hurtful and prejudiced, and it's words spoken with no knowledge of where the man's come from and what he's accomplished in his life.

We do not talk about it much, but the truth is that Colin Powell is more respected within the State Department than anyone has been for a long time, and he's more respected among foreign governments than anyone has been for a long, long time.

He is a quiet performer and very well liked by everyone who's met him, including the person writing this.

Unfortunately, he will probably personally never live down that we made him go to the UN and basically tell a lie about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction...but history itself will forgive him this because we know he was ordered to do it, the evidence was given him, and he had no reason to doubt the evidence.

Ms Rice I don't know as much about, except that she has always looked up to Gen Powell and considers him a confidante and mentor. She is closer to Bush's politics than Powell is, but she is still not as far to the right as Mr Rumsfeld.

And even if I don't knew her, I still take umbrage for our society that we have tolerated an idiotic, unschooled and underachieving morning talk show host to call her an Aunt Jemima. Disgusting.

We as in lower-middle class minorities in Wisconsin. I recently moved up by u of wi-milwaukee, but before that I lived in an inner-city neighborhood with mostly hispanics, blacks, and asians. We all pretty much think the same thing when it comes to politics.
