I ordered that drive (SATA 80 GB Segate Barracuda (sp) 7200 RPM) drive last night for $73 shipped. For a daily use puter used for graphical development and the like (Flash, web stuff, etc.) do you think it would be worth it to run RAID0 and spend the extra money on another one of those drives?

sounded like you weren't sure so you didn't add the bit about the lost space so I just made it obvious for our ricer :chuckles:

I wouldn't go RAID0 if your working on important data. It only makes a big difference in servers and databases anyways. I have it on my gaming rig because I like to be on the battlefield first in multiplayer. That and because i'm a pimp.

not for flash, web stuff. unless you are editing and or capturing videos. these newer SATA or even IDE will be more than fast enough

Ok, cool. I'll just stick with a regular setup then. I really don't need RAID1 because I'm not all that worried about fault tolerance for this computer. :wiggle:

That's exactly what I do - 200 GB backup drive.
