Default What digital camera...

Would you buy for less then $400 (I'd like to stay closer to $300 though).

Please add on $40 for cameras that use 4 AA batteries because, well, I'll probably be spending that much for the charger and batteries.

GO (I have a few idears that I will post in a few minutes after I get more coffee and discuss things with the toaster).

I think its the S series of the Finepix such as S7000 which is a very good camera can be had for around the 400 mark.

S7000 new is around 500 but like John said you can get it for around 400, I wish I had got the S7000 instead of the S5000.

Um yeah there's a whole bunch of different kinds of cameras available in that price range. Do you want something super tiny that fits in your pocket? Something bigger with more manual features?

No that is the mistake I made with the SD110 before. Okay camera but 2x zoom is a little...annoying.

Rick, I'm considering the A85 on amazon for $250 + the batteries and small case.

Or the Minolta Z3, but it's kind of expensive.
