My friend asked if anyone can help him on this lil thingamabob:
No clue what's its for. It's too late for me to use my brain.
a cylinder 60 cm high has a circumference of 20 cm. A string makes exactly 4 complete turns around the cylinder while its two ends touch the cylinder's top and bottom, like a barber's pole. how long is the string in cm?

Found out it's my friend's cousin, for his prjoect or something. We told him to go to home depot and freakin' buy a 60 CM high cylinder with a 20 cm circumference and wrap a string see how long.

length = 60 cm
width of top and bottom = (Pi x diameter = 20) = 20/3.14159... = 6.366 cm
60 + 60 + 6.366 + 6.366 = 132.732 = ~132.7 cm

"Unroll" the cylinder, and you will get four triangles. The hypotenuse of each one of these is 25 cm, so the total length is 100 cm.
