haha ive already put a 302 in my 87 RX7,..blew the motor the next day i took her out,..so now she sits with no motor in her,..that is why she isnt in my sig,..im in the process of finding time to rebuild that motor to put her back in,..but i might just put the NA rotory back in for the winter since i need a beater for the winter,..the civics arent gonna cut it in the snow and the wifey is gonna drive the tiburon

dont know much about this cars but this one is a rebuilt engine boosted at 20psi I think.

It is a pretty straight forward swap. Small block Chevy into a Z. The 510 swap they did before the rotary swap became popular was the old small GM V-8 (Buick I think, early 60's)that Rover stole for the Land Rovers
quick question...u guys are talkin about mazdas and nissans...considering mazda is fords sister company...just look at the ford ranger and mazda b2000 ...same truck..isnt it possible to drop a mustang 5.0 into an rx7?
Just because there's a corporate relationship doesn't mean the motors are designed to interchange. The Chevy small block is the more common swap choice for the RX-7. There 5.0 is usually swapped into Miatas because they have a smaller engine bay and it's a more compact motor. That's only for first gen Miatas though, because the 2nd gen are stuck with OBD2 and most states require a functioning diagnostic port. There's no ECU out there which will run both the 5.0 motor and the diagnostic port.
