quick pc networking question.
You should use the router its way better.
You would have to setup a NAT on that pc in order to get it working
ICS isnt that great to use.
Use Network Address Translation service. (NAT ).
From my router I have a hub that is being shared for my sisters pc and my playstation 2. Dont have any problems.
Are you not able to link it directly to the router?

i'm behind a router right now, so the actual diagram should look like ...
[pc] -----> [router 1(filled w/4 connections)] -----> [internet]
i'm just trying to avoid:
[pc] -----> [router 2] -----> [router 1(filled w/4 connections)] -----> internet
[xbox] ---> [router 2]
i could get a router with more ports, but i'm a cheap ass and don't want to spend more than $10 to hook up 1 more device.

h:then be a cheapass like me and buy a 4 port switch

then it would go
router ---> switch---> pc
.......................|____>xbox
ignore the dots.
4 port switch should be like $20 if that. should be close to the price of a NIC.

i need to get my xbox connected and i only see 2 options ...
toss another router in
or 2 nic cards
:happysad:
the xbox only has to connect to my 1 pc too ... it doesn't need to have internet access or be shared by anyone else. i just need to upload and download files from it's hard drive.

nope just plug in the cable from the router into the uplink port then plug in your xbox and pc into the remaining free ports.
if you ever wanted to add a pc or a laptop you still have 2 ports free

that's how it's set up in my computer room
