Default Question. Help?

I dropped my car off lastnight to get it inspected and just called to see if it was done. He said yes, i asked how much and he said $108 something. He said he had to balance my tires and he took the hyper blinker out and put a regular one in. I have the original turn signal and have been wanting to put it back in, but just kept putting it off. I didn't think anything about that when i dropped it off, so I didn't tell him that the original was in my trunk.

My questions:
-Don't they have to ask you or tell you before they work on your car?

-My mom's boyfriend said that he won't take the turn signal out that he put in, and subtract that from my bill b/c it's electrical. He said they can't take back electrical components. Is that true?

I'm pretty pissed off b/c I don't have the $108 to pay, i was only expecting a bill of $60. If he had called me and told me that those things needed to be done, i couldve told him that the turn signal was in my car and made arrangements to get more money.

Am i SOL or is there something I can do since he did work on my car without consulting me 1st?

He is the manager. It's a local garage that my whole family goes to, but I just started going to. I already don't like him.

oh wow! :eek4:

as for the situation, if it wasn't related to the work he was supposed to do, you should be able to correct things with them.

shut up. I planned on taking it out a long time ago but kept putting it off. This thread is serious, not about whether i'm a ricer or not.

Keep the stupid comments to yourself. I'm highly pissed off right now.

They most certainly do.

In this case, no, because they did the work without authorization.

Call the Pennsylvania Attorney General. The local Assistant Attorney General can help you.

My mom's taking me down to pick it up after we eat. If he doesn't want to deduct it, then I'll make some calls. I shouldn't have to pay for something that I already have because he was too lazy to pick up the phone and call me.

This is the last time I'm taking my car to him.
