Default Driving skill

For how many people did driving just come to as a natural thing?
I thought when everyone drove enough they got pretty good at it but this is far from the truth. For example, I've been practicing my hard driving skills for maybe 4 months? I got the hang of it really quickly, including launching, another thing that I am surprised that many people don't get very quickly. My friend on the other hand is very proficent in driving all kinds of other things, dirtbikes, snowmobiles, ATV's, offroad type stuff, and he has been doing that longer than me and driving a little longer than me but he is just barely getting the basic concepts of hard launching and shifting gears at a full acceleration quickly, much cornering type stuff or threshold braking, even not when it is reflexive. So who here has been driving forever and still sucks and who here picked up the finer points of car control early on?

tee hee indeed
I have nothing better to do, I'm wicked antsy to get my B16a running right, waiting for a part.
What better to discuss on a car forum?
Even if you think I know nothing, I'm just curious what other people are like.

I have been driving since I was about 9 years old. Started driving stick shift trucks, motorcycles, snowmobiles, sandrails, tractors and even a couple of diesel rigs by the time I was 14. When I started out in jr high I was probably the only kid there who regularly drove himself to school in his own car.

I just always have driven so I guess it just came natural to me.....I wish wrenching came to me half as easily as driving.

The same friend I mentioned is extremely handy at working or any kind of mechanical stuff, he did the bulk of my swap. I suck, half the time I tighten stuff when I mean to loosen it h:
